Atc 3 Airports
Welcome to 2013! A lot of things happened in the ATC3 community. Many custom modified plane models were made by the community. Technobrain released 1.5 airports (RJAAN only counts as 0.5 since it's only the night scene) and 2 expansion packs. During the holidays, the website has been updated extensively and new plane models were added.
NEW DELHI: Jharkhand’s steel city Bokaro has become the first airport to get a mobile (ATC) tower at its airport. The state-run Airports Authority of India (AAI) has acquired eight trailer-mounted towers at a cost of Rs 64.6 crore from a Slovak company for being used at small airports for regional connectivity scheme (RCS) flights. “With the ude desh ke aag nagrik (UDAN or the subsidised regional flying scheme where fares are capped at Rs 2,500 per hour of flying) we will see a number of small airports getting one or two flights a day. In the past also we had used mobile ATC towers but now we are doing it in a systematic manner given the demand for RCS flights. It is better to use these mobile towers at small airports,” said AAI chairman Mohapatra.
FPV is short for First Person View or First Pilot View and allows model flyers to fit a video camera to their craft and see the pilots view via video goggles. Easy pal digital sstv software. I will be using 5.8Ghz video transmitters so not to interfere with my 2.4Ghz radio control gear.
The mobile towers have been purchased from MSM Martin Company Slovakia, Slovak Republic. The first eight will be used at regional airports at Bilaspur, Ambikapur,, Jeypore, Utkela, Vellore, Bokaro and Mithapur ().

NOTE- When operating in accordance with CFRs, it is the responsibility of the pilot to avoid collision with other aircraft. However, due to the limited space around terminal locations, traffic information can aid pilots in avoiding collision between aircraft operating within Class B, Class C, or Class D surface areas and the terminal radar service areas, and transiting aircraft operating in proximity to terminal locations. PREVENTIVE CONTROL Provide preventive control service only to aircraft operating in accordance with a letter of agreement. When providing this service, issue advice or instructions only if a situation develops which requires corrective action. NOTE- Preventive control differs from other airport traffic control in that repetitious, routine approval of pilot action is eliminated.
Controllers intervene only when they observe a traffic conflict developing. USE OF ACTIVE RUNWAYS The local controller has primary responsibility for operations conducted on the active runway and must control the use of those runways. Positive coordination and control is required as follows: NOTE- Exceptions may be authorized only as provided in para, Constraints Governing Supplements and Procedural Deviations, and FAAO JO 7210.3, Facility Operation and Administration, para 10-1-7, Use of Active Runways, where justified by extraordinary circumstances at specific locations. REFERENCE- FAAO JO 7110.65, Para, Constraints Governing Supplements and Procedural Deviations. FAAO JO 7210.3, Para 10-1-7, Use of Active Runways. Ground control must obtain approval from local control before authorizing an aircraft or a vehicle to cross or use any portion of an active runway.
The coordination shall include the point/intersection at the runway where the operation will occur. PHRASEOLOGY- CROSS (runway) AT (point/intersection). When the local controller authorizes another controller to cross an active runway, the local controller shall verbally specify the runway to be crossed and the point/intersection at the runway where the operation will occur preceded by the word “cross.” PHRASEOLOGY- CROSS (runway) AT (point/intersection). The ground controller shall advise the local controller when the coordinated runway operation is complete. This may be accomplished verbally or through visual aids as specified by a facility directive. USA/USAF/USN NOT APPLICABLE. Authorization for aircraft/vehicles to taxi/proceed on or along an active runway, for purposes other than crossing, shall be provided via direct communications on the appropriate local control frequency.
